º£½ÇÒùĸÂÒÂ× Symphony Orchestra Spring Concert April 30

º£½ÇÒùĸÂÒÂ× Symphony Orchestra Spring Concert

Students of the º£½ÇÒùĸÂÒÂ× Symphony Orchestra will perform their Spring Concert on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. in the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center Recital Hall. Amongst other works, the program will feature Mozart's Symphony No. 20 in D major, as well as Hindemith's "Trauermusik" for orchestra and solo viola. The ensemble is directed by º£½ÇÒùĸÂÒÂ× string faculty Leonard Ligon, and º£½ÇÒùĸÂÒÂ× string faculty Ashley Overby will be the featured solo violist on the Hindemith.

Additionally, º£½ÇÒùĸÂÒÂ× Symphony Orchestra will welcome special guests, the students from the Mobile Symphony Youth Orchestra Chamber Strings Ensemble. The MSYO Chamber Strings prepares students to enter the MSYO, and this group is also directed by Leonard Ligon. In this concert, they will play a few selections before the º£½ÇÒùĸÂÒÂ× Symphony Orchestra begins, and then they will join the orchestra for the final piece of the evening.
